Everything you need to know before your first visit.

This page walks you through how the practice works, what to expect from your first appointment, and how to know if Lisa is the right fit for you.

Dr. Lisa Milli, PhD, WHNP-BC, MSCP

Board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Menopause Practitioner with 20+ years of experience helping women navigate hormonal change, midlife transitions, and complex health decisions.

What to expect when we meet.

Before your visit, you will complete a detailed intake that Lisa reviews personally in advance, as well as some important consent forms. By the time you meet, she already knows your history, your symptoms, and your goals. Your 75 minutes together are spent going deep, not catching up.

During your consultation, Lisa will take a comprehensive look at your full picture including your medical, reproductive, and family history, your hormonal and metabolic symptoms, your sleep, mood, cognition, and libido, your cardiovascular, bone, and long-term health risks, and your lifestyle including nutrition, movement, and stress.

You will leave with a personalized care plan that may include hormone therapy, non-hormonal treatment options, metabolic and weight optimization strategies, targeted lab work, and precision lifestyle recommendations tailored to your physiology. This is not a one-time visit. Lisa works with patients over time, monitoring your response, refining your plan, and optimizing outcomes in a way that is thoughtful and sustainable.

Dr. Milli offers a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are the right fit.

"Lisa is extremely knowledgeable. Her expertise in menopausal symptoms was so helpful ... I’m so thankful for her telemedicine practice."

Laura
dr. lisa milli's approach

Great care shouldn't require a referral, a fight, or a miracle.

Too many women spend years cycling through providers who are too busy, too dismissive, or simply not trained in what's actually happening to their bodies. They leave appointments with no answers, no plan, and the quiet suspicion that they're being written off.

Lisa's approach is rooted in the belief that every woman deserves a clinician who takes her symptoms seriously, explains what's actually going on, and builds a care plan around her life rather than a template. Care at Milli Health & Wellness is always evidence-based, always personalized, and never rushed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

No, and that is intentional. Working outside of insurance means your care is guided by what you need, not what a billing code allows. New patient visits are 75 minutes. Follow-ups are 45. You can use your HSA or FSA, and we can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement depending on your plan.

Do you prescribe hormone therapy? Are they bioidentical?

Yes. Lisa prescribes FDA-approved hormone therapy including bioidentical hormones such as estradiol and progesterone. When appropriate, she collaborates with reputable compounding pharmacies to tailor treatment to your specific needs. Every decision is rooted in the latest menopause research, your personal health history, and shared decision-making.

Can you be my primary care provider or gynecologist?

No. Milli Health & Wellness is a specialty telemedicine practice, not a primary care or general gynecology office. Lisa does not perform annual physicals, Pap smears, or routine in-office exams. All patients are encouraged to maintain care with a primary care provider and gynecologist for preventive screenings. Lisa's role is expert-level care in menopause, hormone therapy, metabolic health, sexual health, and midlife wellness. She can review recent labs or order testing including CBC, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, and diabetes screening.

Do you offer genetic cancer risk assessment?

Yes, and it is one of Lisa's core areas of expertise. With over 20 years in gynecologic oncology and breast health and advanced training in genomic cancer risk assessment, she helps women navigate family history of breast and ovarian cancers, genetic testing including BRCA and other mutations, risk-reducing strategies, and menopause management in the context of cancer risk or survivorship.

Where are you located and what states do you serve?

Milli Health & Wellness is a fully virtual practice. Lisa is currently licensed to see patients in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Florida.

Can women over 65 safely take hormone therapy?

It depends, and it deserves a real conversation. There is no blanket rule. Lisa takes a personalized, risk-based approach that considers your overall health, bone and cardiovascular health, current symptoms, and quality of life. Together you weigh the benefits, risks, and alternatives through shared decision-making.

What makes this practice different?

This is not traditional, rushed medicine. You receive expert-led care from a clinician with 20+ years in women's health and oncology, a whole-person integrative approach, and a focus on longevity, prevention, and quality of life. Every visit is designed to leave you feeling informed, supported, and in control of your health.
